Marshall Pt Light, Maine. If you remember the movie "Forest Gump," where he runs out the gangway, pictured below, & up to the light marking the furthest east point in the US, it is not. The furthest east point is the West Quoddy Head Light near Lebec, Maine. The house below, I found to be kind of creepy. Inside, they had photos of the families who had lived there. I don't believe in ghosts, but those photos looked lonely & felt very ghostly.

In the foreground on the left is a small white tower with a bright rotating light on top. There is a long white painted gangway for the lighthouse keeper to access the light tower. The tower is around 15-20 feet tall and the gangway is around 70 feet long. It is dry under the gangway and around the light because the tide is out. A Victorian style two-story house stands at the right side of the frame. It has a large bay window area extending up from the first floor and the second floor. A flag pole stands between the gangway and the house. There is a US flag at the top, a nautical flag of some sort on the lower left, and presumably the state flag of Maine on the lower right. A large ship's bell is on the lawn in front of the house and a picnic table and a few large rocks are on the right side of the frame.

Russian container ship captain charged with manslaughter.

The master of the container ship which crashed into the tanker in the North Sea has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter.

Vladimir Motin, 59, a Russian national, was in charge of the Solong when it collided with the Stena Immaculate, carrying jet fuel for the American military, on Monday about 19km off the East Yorkshire coast, leaving one man dead.
