Stanley Cup playoffs are just around the corner, starting this weekend.

I'll post some #data #visualization #dataviz for each team pairs before the playoffs start. First, we'll start with the eastern conference. Atlantic, we'll first have the battle of #Ontario with #Toronto #MapleLeafs vs #Ottawa #Senators. Interactive line plot fir various metrics, paired for Toronto and Ottawa. Since the 4 nations faceoff, Toronto and Ottawa have been closer than you'd expect. Ottawa's PP and PK have been edging Toronto lately. Ottawa taking less penalties, but I suspect this will change when the puck hits the ice for the playoffs.

Another way to frame it is: #Vote *and*...

What comes after the *and* depends on your circumstances. Here are some things, and this is a partial list. Before you do anything, evaluate where you're at and what you can reasonably expect yourself to do. It's not *all* on you or anyone else, so don't over-commit.

- Most people can make some choices about consumption. What you purchase and from where you purchase it. If you are struggling to make ends meet, this may be all you can do.

- Some people have time and good phone plans. If that's you, you can also call your #senators and your #congress critter (gender-neutral term).

- Some people have time and mobility. If that's you, you can show up. This can mean protesting, volunteering, etc.

- Some people have money. If that's you, you can support independent journalists, or #candidates running against #fascism, legal funds, community organizations, etc.

- Some people have skills, and time or money. If that's you, you can run for office, volunteer in your community, or get together with community members to address an unmet community need.

Thus removing the Presidential tariff power

But, they knew Trump would VETO it AND the House would ⭕NOT over ride the veto, so the R Senators gave up

NOTE, there is NOT a state of emergency in the US ⭕ (at this time)

If you come after Dick Durbin and Jeanne Shaheen, you're an idiot. These are the Democrats who engaged with pro-democracy activists from #Belarus long before the protests of 2020 hit the major news, and are still engaging long after the news cycle has moved on. These two are my gold standard of #Senators who know what they are doing, hire the best staff and then listen to them, and care deeply about people.

If they are the ones who chose to back #Schumer, it was the right thing to do. Period.
