Wen<p>Remembrance swim 30 of 61</p><p>The Tweed by Yair</p><p>A little different from pur last swim here. Water lower, but on the positive side much much warmer (there was snow on the banks last time). The run was a 12k round trip on the Southern Upland Way - very enjoyable and not too hot as I decided to get out early (late afternooon and it is 29C here)</p><p>Photos today and November 27 last year </p><p>31 to go<br><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Running" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Running</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Swimming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Swimming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/ScottishBorders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScottishBorders</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/BorderCollie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BorderCollie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/DogsOfMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DogsOfMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Tweed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tweed</span></a></p>
Wen<p>All his own work</p><p>The dug had been in the car for 90 minutes this afternoon, so we got out for an hour and cut through the farm where he occasionally ‘works’ (on the promise of a quad bike ride). He knows the sheep and they him. So as we came in, curious beasts that they are and hoping for something (?), followed us through three fields, eventually thwarted by a closed gate.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/ScottishBorders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScottishBorders</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/BorderCollie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BorderCollie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/DogsOfMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DogsOfMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/SheepOfMastoson" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SheepOfMastoson</span></a></p>

Undiscovered Scotland<p>205 years ago today. The Union Chain Bridge over the River Tweed upstream from Berwick-upon-Tweed opened to traffic on 26 July 1820. At the time it was the world's longest iron suspension bridge. Wen<p>Remembrance swim 18 of 61</p><p>Branxholme Easter Loch</p><p>Another quiet swim. Perfect for a skinny dip and convenient for a run along paths in a nearby wood. 2 lengths of the loch (about 1.5k) and 8k of cushioned tracks through the wood. I love the ‘bench’ which has been here since before we first swam it. More detail in photos, but carved from a great rock and inscribed.<br>Photos today and 20 months ago<br>43 to go</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/running" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>running</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Swimming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Swimming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/ScottishBorders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScottishBorders</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/BorderCollie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BorderCollie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/DogsOfMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DogsOfMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/BirthdaySuit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BirthdaySuit</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Branxholme" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Branxholme</span></a></p>
Wen<p>Remembrance swim 16 of 61</p><p>An unnamed lochan near Selkirk.</p><p>Not terribly inspiring, but nice and close and on my list. There is a story to the choice (see last photo). Shallowish but a pleasant swim if a little close to the A7. It was however far enough away for me to decide that I would not scare any drivers skinny dipping. The dug never cares.</p><p>Photos from today and 18 months ago.</p><p>45 to go</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Swimming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Swimming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/ScottishBorders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScottishBorders</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/BorderCollie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BorderCollie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/DogsOfMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DogsOfMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/BirthdaySuit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BirthdaySuit</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/AlAltTxt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AlAltTxt</span></a></p>

Wen<p>A noisy evening. We are 25metres above the burn that is normally crossable, at points with a hop a skip and ‘bloody hell splash’. But this has come up over 2 hours. Still 23 metres below though. Feeds into the Teviot. Undiscovered Scotland<p>The lovely Dawyck Botanic Garden and arboretum, on 60 acres or 24 hectare of land that rises above the River Tweed near Stobo, south-west of Peebles in the Scottish Borders. It is the result of over 300 years of tree collecting. Wen<p>Remembrance swim 13 of 61</p><p>Alemoor this morning, a small loch that is used as one of the areas reservoirs. Frequently swum in both the winter and summer, and very accessible for canoes and paddle boards. 1.5k at a leisurely pace, leaving the dug to mind my clothes (and find a comfortable bed on my towel!) after he had been swimming himself.</p><p>Photos from today and 20 months ago.</p><p>48 to go</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Swimming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Swimming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/ScottishBorders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScottishBorders</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/BorderCollie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BorderCollie</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/DogsOfMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DogsOfMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Alemoor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Alemoor</span></a></p>
