I have started again to use an RSS reader to follow blogs, photo galleries, forums and video channels.

It's so great to have everything followed by a single and local application, with no big tech algorythm. Only what I have choosen and how I want it.

And I have a lot of choices for the RSS reader application. From the most simple to a very complete and customizable one.

I love RSS.

I switched from #Feeder to #ReadYou as my favorite #RSS #app. The user interface in "Read You" is much cleaner and more visually appealing. It feels more modern and intuitive, which makes browsing through articles more enjoyable. I also find the readability to be significantly better, the fonts, spacing, and layout make it easier on the eyes. Overall, it just offers a more pleasant and efficient reading experience.

Okay, was benutzen Menschen denn heutzutage so als #RSS-Reader? Ich war die ganze Zeit bei Newsblur, möchte aber weg von US-Unternehmen.

Wichtig wäre mir, den "gelesen"-Status und die abonnierten Feeds über mehrere Geräte hinweg synchronisieren zu können. Und irgendwas an Filtermöglichkeiten, um Posts mit bestimmten Stichworten oder bestimmten Autor*innen z.B. wegfiltern zu können.

Do you prefer to read the full article in the reader or do you like to follow the link to the website to read it in its original format?

What’s a good RSS reader: one that uses a good browser for web access, doesn’t track me or ask for all my info, and isn’t otherwise enshittified? I don’t even need to use it for reading (yet?) per se but am putting RSS links on my website and want to see how it looks from a reader.

Does anybody have a recommendation for an RSS reader? With a bunch of people I like and care about setting up blogs and other personal sites, I would like to set up feed subscriptions.

The tyranny of the algorithm. The one last site that I couldn't tear myself away from but had one was YouTube. I recently learned YouTube channels have RSS feeds. I am finally free. There is no algorithm on my social media now. And let me tell you, I am unbothered, moisturized, happy, in my lane, focused, flourishing.

Congratulations to @rizzi for releasing the reimagined version of the #RSSReader named #Reeder. I am not sure yet whether it will fit my use cases, but what is now renamed to #ReederClassic has been to me an indispensable, powerful, and exceptionally maintained tool for many years on many devices.
So I am looking forward to try the new product.

Two tips for #Mastodon / #Fediverse that may not be known to everyone:
1) You can link to your (a) User-Profile and filter by tags. So if you mark every post on a topic with the same hashtag, users **without** a Mastodon-Account have a way to stay up-to-date on - for example - your event notes or blog entries: https://mstdn.strafpla.net/@Muellers_Kabinett/tagged/Rombergpark
2) Most of Mastodon becomes an #RSS-feed if you add ‘.rss' to the URL. So people can subscribe to users/tags/whatever in their #RSSReader.
