RaymondPierreL3<p>I recall being told, not so long ago at a local party branch meeting, that if we (the local branch) thought we would be represented by a candidate of our choice, we were fooling ourselves. And this was from an elected candidate (whom I respect for their honesty).</p><p>It was a rude awakening for someone who believed in political action to have that democratic right taken away. Yes, I’m still a Labor Party member, because there is opposition to this ‘captain’s call’ process within the party (mainly left wing and unions).
