Bart Louwers<p>The design of the new <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> was announced today. If you are having a de-ja-vu from 10 years ago, yes, that's when they went bankrupt and got sold. It is back now because the operating system got open sourced after all these years.</p><p><a href="https://ericmigi.com/blog/pebble-time-2-design-reveal" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ericmigi.com/blog/pebble-time-</span><span class="invisible">2-design-reveal</span></a></p>
Lars Marowsky-Brée 😷<p>The Pebble Time 2 will a heart rate monitor, you say?</p><p>That's the feature I was missing from the Duo to replace my Fitbit.</p><p>💸 </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/RePebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RePebble</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PebbleTime2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PebbleTime2</span></a></p>
Alasdair Allan<p>Oh! Now I'm interested, <a href="https://ericmigi.com/blog/pebble-time-2-design-reveal" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ericmigi.com/blog/pebble-time-</span><span class="invisible">2-design-reveal</span></a>. I far preferred the design of the Pebble Time to the original <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a>. Always considered the death of Pebble as a real waste of potential. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PebbleTime2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PebbleTime2</span></a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcPzmDePH3E" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">youtube.com/watch?v=pcPzmDePH3E</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Bart Louwers<p>Google open sourced the operating system of the <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> smartwatch, 10 years after Pebble went bankrupt, it got sold to Fitbit, which then got acquired by Google.</p><p>The founder of Pebble is now bringing out new watches. So there will be a capable smartwatch with a world-class open source operating system.</p><p>It is extremely low end, which means 30 days of battery life instead of the measly 1-2 days of some other smartwatches.</p><p>What sets Pebble apart as well is its excellent UI/UX and also DX.</p>
Vladimir Campos<p>They can definitely use a little cleaning, but now that I found the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> straps I have another excuse to finally start fixing the watch. <a href="https://youtu.be/JuLFLl211yE" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/JuLFLl211yE</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Ongion 🥚🐞<p>Been poking away at my new <a href="https://mendeddrum.org/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a> watchface recently. Implemented a custom font, but that my temperature display sometimes looked uh... not great. (1/3)</p>

Vladimir Campos<p>When Google made <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PebbleOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PebbleOS</span></a> open source, Eric Migicovsky, the founder of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pebble</span></a>, said he would release compatible watches. But, from what I understand, older models will also work with the “new” OS.
