I just took my girls (Theo and Nelly, the Great Danes) on a walk and explored a few streets we haven't walked down before.

I absolutely love walking in #PDX because there always so many interesting things to see! So many cool old houses, and interesting people!

Today we found a house with goats in their front yard! It was nice to meet some new friends. We'll have to go that way more often!

Hello #Portland #PDX people. I'm meeting with organizations and artists to talk about the Guilded Freelancer Cooperative. We help independent workers with contracting/invoicing support, immediate payment, and access to benefits. We offer services to all 1099 workers, but especially creative workers from historically marginalized communities.

Needed: #PDX area front-end #developer willing to #volunteer time to teach and mentor a high school FIRST Robotics program.

The Tactics & Strategy wing of the Skyview Robotics program has been working on a data collection and reporting tool and could use some professional guidance. The mentor "stack" includes Product, UX Design, Data Analyst, and Dev Ops, but nobody to teach front-end coding.

We'll meet Tues and Thursday nights starting in the fall. Reach out for more info. Thanks!

Coming to you live from the (floating) floor of the Crystal Ballroom waiting for the #TheyMightBeGiants show to start.

I know what they say about #pdx and I am here to tell you this particular intersection underscores, nay, reinforces every single thing you ever heard about #Portland being weird.

It is glorious and bizarre and fun and odd and I couldn't love it more.

Back to you, Bob.

Video of Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner ET-AOP landing at Portland #PDX / #KPDX. While looking for news of why this charter/VIP flight is in Portland, I realized ET-AOP is the same 787-8 that caught fire at London Heathrow in 2013 due to an Emergency Locator Transmitter battery fire. Boeing repaired it by flying a new empennage from Charleston to London and replacing the entire aft barrel of the fuselage. It was returned to flight and here it is. #aviation #travel #avgeek #PNW

Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner ET-AOP landing at Portland #PDX / #KPDX, on a flight which originated at Tokyo Haneda #HND / #RJTT. This appears to be some kind of charter or VIP flight. (A search for relevant news found only Ethiopian restaurants in Portland.) It taxied to an international passenger arrival gate. The only previous time I've seen an Ethiopian plane at Portland was a new pre-delivery 777F coming out of the Boeing paint hangar. #aviation #travel #avgeek #PNW

i'm hosting a series of six rides this summer that prefigure what our major arterial roads could/should/would be without compulsory mass automobility -- straight, smooth tracks for bicyclists and other human-powered transit! (and maybe some light rail and trolleybuses thrown in there too).

each weekend, we will tackle some of portland's "unfriendly" roads, stroads, and orphaned highways and claim a lane. i'm used to riding these roads solo during heavy traffic hours, so it would be ~*fun*~ to bike as a larger group on roads where cyclists "don't belong" or "shouldn't be on" -- laugh through their windows, spit on their tires! (jk jk... but actually tho). check out the links below for details if you'd like to join any of the rides (thanks again to @shift2bikes for such a great calendar resource).

ride #1: 6/29, 3pm - milwaukie ave

Question for my Portland people: can you still buy a bunch of spinach?

I noticed when I moved to the east coast that a lot of produce was ridiculously over packaged. Maybe you can buy a bunch of spinach at the farmers market, but at the store, you can only get those pre-washed packages of baby spinach.

I wondered if my hometown has also taken this horrible turn.
