Saaste<p>Kokeilin joskus huvikseni Goodreads palvelua sillä ajatuksella, että voisin seurata sen avulla lukemistani. En kuitenkaan pitänyt suljetusta järjestelmästä tai siitä, että se on Amazonin omistuksessa.</p><p>Testasin eilen OpenLibrarya. Se on yksi Internet Archiven projekteista ja toteutettu avoimena lähdekoodina. Sieltä löytyy myös wiki-tyylinen mahdollisuus kenelle tahansa lisätä kirjojen tietoja järjestelmään.</p><p>Se vaikuttaisi hyvältä vaihtoehdolta, mutta ikävä kyllä palvelu näyttää käyvän oikeustaistelua piratismisyytöksiä vastaan. Syytökset eivät liity itse tietokantaan vaan siihen, että palvelun kautta on tietyin rajoituksin mahdollista lukea skannattuja kirjoja.</p><p>Pidän avoimen kirjatietokannan ajatuksesta ja siitä, että voisin itse täydentää tietokantaa ja muutkin hyötyisivät siitä. En kuitenkaan tiedä, että voiko tuohon nyt sitten oikeasti luottaa.
