Look like somebody pushed some AI slop to live without checking eh Notion?
Okay, Notion calendar is and especially if you're using google workspaces (over office 365).
Being able to connect arbitrary database entries and any number of integrations to your calendar is an absolutely great feature in general, but as a Dev?
As a dev, having integrations that showsprints, work-items & scrum meetings with smart notifications (incl. links and info) all in a calendar, that can also directly 1:1 export for trackign my hours?
...it feels like a super-power.
Notion or Confluence?
Maybe the right answer is: None of the above.
We laid out the facts, side-by-side, and introduced a flexible, open-source solution at the end.
Curious? Check it out: https://xwiki.com/en/Blog/notion-vs-confluence/
#confluence #notion #tech #comparison #XWiki #opensource @european_alternatives @ueeu
I'm looking for an #alternative to #Notion, which is the last US platform I use exclusively in its segment. The alternative does not need to provide all the features of Notion right now.
Core requirements: Joint editing of shared (text) content (including individual pages for individual users), E2E encryption, GDPR compliance, web interface (plus native iOS and Android app if possible) — and open source would be super nice to have
My notes are a mess. I have half in #Notion and half in #Obsidian. I want to make a personal wiki/garden for all my deep dives and info collecting but I can't commit to one platform.
I love Obsidian and its respect for my writing files. Notion has all the shiny features but those fuckers love the typical SaaS lock-in approach.
What to do
Hard not to get TO excited when I got this popup today! Something tells me they might be using just a bit too much vibe over at #notion these days.
Okay, Notions use of AI to pull information from integrations and build dynamic pages based on the prompt and available data...
This is actually it's so freggin' good.
From code info from github and tickets in jira, to documents in cloud storage and records in databases.
Being able to just "Hey, Computer, make me this overview of X thing in Y using Z resources" saves you so much time in researching your sources and building the dashboard/overview itself.
Sure you might have to fine-tune some filters, what properties you want displayed and how to order the results, but this is the last 5-10% of quality control which a human arguably should be doing anyway.
I just use pen and paper.
And #ObsidianMD
I only use Obsidian as a PKM and content driver and generator.
Task management is on paper and Jira and Trello. Journaling? Paper haha
Notion Mail is actually kinda decent
@leoscarin I am so proud of you, son
I am so glad that constantly talking about @yunohost pays off eheheh
It really depends on your needs… For sure going to the Apps Catalog is helpful to get an idea of the most popular and best supported apps.
I have been promoting, using, and translating #YunoHost in Italian for almlost five years (), maybe other people who are new could help you more. @_elena’s self-hosting log can be of inspiration!
#Tipp #Workflowy #Wissensmanagement #Outliner
