Colin Purrington<p>Excellent signage at the towel hut at Lake Mohonk. There's a healthy population of eastern newts (Notophthalmus viridescens) at the beachfront and kids love to capture them in their buckets. <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/NewYork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NewYork</span></a> <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/NewPaltz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NewPaltz</span></a> <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/mohonk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mohonk</span></a> <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/lakes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lakes</span></a> <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/art" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>art</span></a> <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/salamanders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>salamanders</span></a> <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/newts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>newts</span></a> <a href="https://flipping.rocks/tags/nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nature</span></a></p>
This Is My Glasgow<p>A newt stranded on the footpath alongside the Forth and Clyde Canal Glasgow that I can across on my run this morning. I moved it into the grass at the side, but at least two others I saw weren't so lucky. Not too sure if there's anything that can be done to prevent it, but it's quite a common occurence along this tow path.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/glasgow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>glasgow</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/forthandclydecanal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>forthandclydecanal</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/newts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>newts</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/urbanwildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>urbanwildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/urbannature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>urbannature</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/wildglasgow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wildglasgow</span></a></p>
