Such nostalgia.</p><p>I hadn't planned on ascending as a barbarian, it just happened. I was burnt out on competitive passes with Valkyries (the best class for this back then), and decided to go full Conan. I literally named the character at the start as GOD! never thinking they'd have any chance. djohngo<p>It's my day off, but I'm babysitting a remote session by a vendor's support tech. So of course I'm playing <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nethack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nethack</span></a>. My only problem is I'm sshed into a Linux server from a Mac, and I can't figure out how to do send Meta key commands. The weird thing is, it's sending the Meta key, but it's changing the companion key. So M-f receives the error "Unknown command 'M-^R'. The thing that really bugs me is I think I used to know why this is, but I definitely don't anymore!</p>

Some vary the font weight instead. Applications written for those will expect yellow to be yellow, whether it's bold or not.</p><p>But when playing <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/NetHack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NetHack</span></a> I used to send a palette-control sequence to go back to brown, because NH uses that colour for brown monsters!</p>
ErosBlog Bacchus<p>But then again, I still sometimes jerk in startlement when I see a light-colored upper case D surrounded by dark space on a monitor.
