I'm not a big fan of philosophy. Pages upon pages for ideas that can be summed up in less than 5. The ideas themself tend to be either so simple that they're not really helpful or just stupid. Just read some breif summaries of the most well known philosphies and use what you take from that to build your own. It'll have roughly the same effect for most.

Reading Victor Lowe "Understanding Whitehead" on "organism" some pieces fall into place.

Since we're humans, not machines, thinking about the foundation of epistemology may take von Uexküll's umwelt-innenwelt dialectic as a functional point of view.
