I almost never have trouble with incompatible go modules unless I use the #kubernetes go modules. Then... headaches.

Finally found a couple minutes to write a #Kubernetes CronJob to sync my DNS records using DNSControl, including private ingresses. Public ingresses are thorny for some reason that I haven't tracked down yet but I'm sure is incredibly idiosyncratic.

External DNS did me dirty today. I switched ingress class on a couple sites in my #kubernetes cluster and external-dns refused to update anything. I blew away the dynamodb table and it still refused to budge, so away it went.

Back to dnscontrol, at least for now. Generating records off of ingresses isn't hard, at least.

KwoK is hilarious to me. Like I *get* why it exists it's just funny to take the ONE, *absolutely* necessary program for a cluster and be like "naaah, we'll mock it"

Does anyone understand why #Kubernetes would occasionally create more replicas than requested for simple deployments? (Same behavior with jobs, and so on).

Like, I have replicas=1 and get 2 pods running at the same time, which messes up the whole application.

Am I missing something? Is it a bug in Minikube? In Kubernetes proper? What is going on even?

@mijndert and I have been working hard to create a new platform for the #tootcommunity Mastodon instance. It's completely open-source and built as Infrastructure as Code. The repository includes Kubernetes configurations, custom Helm charts, and OpenTofu code. The best part is that any changes made to this repository are instantly deployed to production.
