Mike 🇬🇧 🇪🇺<p>There was an extremely powerful piece during this evening's <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/itv4" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>itv4</span></a> coverage of the <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/TourDeFrance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TourDeFrance</span></a> regarding the greenwashing activities of <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/TotalEnergies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TotalEnergies</span></a> and how it affects their sponsorship of one of the big cycling teams.</p><p>It included speculation that the energy giant may have to blank out their name &amp; logo when the <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/tdf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tdf</span></a> goes to Edinburgh next year due to council policies.</p><p>Find today's Rest Day coverage on <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/ITVX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITVX</span></a> and have a look at this segment (ignore the cycling if you must!)</p><p><a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/greenwashing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>greenwashing</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/CarbonCredits" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CarbonCredits</span></a></p>
Jack Yan (甄爵恩)<p>Noel Edmondsʼ Kiwi Adventure isnʼt that bad a watch. Actually humanizes the man. Also consider the source of his media beat-up: Stuff. On the other hand, thereʼs no mention so far of cycleways or COVID conspiracy theories. <br> Overall, a better ad for Aotearoa than the show most people know us for overseas: Border Patrol. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITV</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITVX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITVX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TV</span></a></p>

Juggling With Eggs<p>Started watching Code of Silence on <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ITVX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITVX</span></a> tonight - crime drama staring Rose Ayling-Ellis and Charlotte Ritchie. Involves a lot of lip reading, subtitles and signing…but these are integral to story and bring the audience along on the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/deaf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>deaf</span></a> / hard of hearing experience. </p><p>I’ve never seen anything quite like it in terms of explaining how lip reading is sort of a super power, but it has its limitations - need a good angle, certain letters/words are identical in shape and context is everything!</p>
Jack Yan (甄爵恩)<p>A great watch—good plotting, but the north is not always grey! <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Protection" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Protection</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITVX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITVX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITV</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TVNZPlus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TVNZPlus</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TV</span></a></p>
Jack Yan (甄爵恩)<p>Enjoying <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Protection" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Protection</span></a>, but why do they drain all the colour from the video when itʼs set in the north? Spender with Jimmy Nail was like this. You get the sense from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TV</span></a> that northern cops spend a lot of time looking pensive. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITV</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITVX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITVX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TVNZPlus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TVNZPlus</span></a></p>

Mike 🇬🇧 🇪🇺<p>I've been watching the ITV series "A Spy Among Friends" from 2022 about the spy Kim Philby. It's very good and very atmospheric of the early 1960s. </p><p>But there's a couple of details that have been really bugging me.<br>The buses in the London scenes.<br>Some of them don't have adverts - which is wrong.<br>And one I had to look up - some of the buses have a white disc painted on the back. This seems to have been a thing in the 1940s to do with blackout - I can find no images with these discs from the 50s or 60s on buses (London Transport Museum archives) </p><p>Bus nerd or what?</p><p><a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/continuity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>continuity</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/bus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bus</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/transportHistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>transportHistory</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/buses" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>buses</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/london" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>london</span></a> Transport <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/itvx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>itvx</span></a></p>
Jack Yan (甄爵恩)<p>Enjoyed watching Douglas Is Cancelled again. I know not everyone liked it. The performances are great: Bonneville, Gillan, Miles, Kingston. There is more to Gillan than Amy Pond, and Miles (who I first saw in The Professionals) can do creepy. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITV</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ITVX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITVX</span></a></p>

Jack Yan (甄爵恩)Red Eye spoiler.
Geoff Winkless<p>Watched all of <a href="https://mastodon.cloud/tags/RedEye" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RedEye</span></a> on <a href="https://mastodon.cloud/tags/ITVx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ITVx</span></a> this week. If you can get through the frankly dire first episode it gets <a href="https://mastodon.cloud/tags/BingeWorthy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BingeWorthy</span></a> in the mid section, but the ending is decidedly luke-warm. </p><p>Richard Armitage is always reliable, Jing Luci plays a great Damaged Copper, Lesley Sharp gives us the same overacted wide-eyed nonsense she provided in the disappointing Scott And Bailey, Peter Guinness is criminally underused.</p><p>Worth watching given the absolute dearth of decent stuff to watch at the moment. 6/10.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.cloud/tags/TV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TV</span></a></p>
