Hi, I'm brib. I figure it's time to write a new updated intro, now that I understand better how I'm using Mastodon.

I'm a programmer by trade who still loves tech despite the best efforts of the tech industry. As a result I gravitate towards the #IndieWeb; I keep my own self-hosted blog (which is also in need of an update ).

Regarding the tech industry, I seem to have found myself quite the #Luddite. Namely, I get quickly frustrated when I try to pair-program with an unreliable machine, and I resent just how much GenAI has affected artists of all kinds. Plus, the Internet is now full of slop, thanks to Sam Altman inventing a new kind of stupid.

I fight quite passionately for #WorkersRights and #TransRights. Expect to see posts related to those.

Outside of that I do #art and #music, I like putting my art pieces on here to show them off and also break up the doom

Here in Brazil I participate on a colective of spreading anarchist political theory, currentlly I act translating progressivist texts for us, but all the translations will become public once they're finished on our public web library.
My next assignment is to translate in teamwork a Kropotkin book that it wasn't translated to Portuguese yet.

I am Conference Chair for [PyOhio](https://pyohio.org). 2024 is the first time I'd done any kind of volunteering or conference organising of any kind, and it has been an adventure full of a ton of work. I am grateful to my amazing team, all of whom have made this situation possible for me.

I've done various speaking engagements, including being a 2019 keynote speaker at PyOhio, even though public speaking terrifies me. My most recent engagements were at two summits at PyCon US 2025: the Education Summit, and the Community Organisers Summit. It was great to share things I was passionate about.

I left my job in September 2023 to pursue my passions. I spent the previous six years working with the CircuitPython project. I was an open source community leader, technical writer, new contributor coordinator, embedded software developer, CircuitPython library codebase manager, and embedded hardware designer, among other things.

There is definitely more to me than this, but I think this is a solid introduction to my current situation. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you around the Fediverse!

Capturing how I have started programming recently. In an md markdown document, I just weave in eev's red star lines and pitch other lines. Since eev 'inhabits other things' naturally, eepitch makes plain markdown into a powerful interactive evaluation mode.

The eepitching includes #shell #lisp #elisp #commonLisp and my #softwareIndividuals #KRF in the kind of freeform medley it lends itself to.
