Fun text game alert!
We (the #FunHack village of #BornHack25) have now released the #Inform7 source code of our #BORNHACK ADVENTURE game: See https://codeberg.org/funhack/bornhackadventure for the source and https://adventure.funhack.dk/ for how to play it.
Thanks to everyone at BornHack this year who helped betatest it.
We hope this example will inspire others to write cool games in Inform 7.

I’m about to try and teach #PostScript programming to #DigitalHumanities students.

I used to teach #Inform7 in this course, which they hated. We’ll see how it goes…

Not gonna lie, I'm fond of the way #Inform7 lets me write like Arlo Guthrie:

(Inform 7 doesn't like names that include the word "with", so I couldn't use the full name "twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was to be used as evidence against us".)

It's official! My next game, "I, Thief" will be set in the Zork universe. Planned release is Spring Thing 2025.

It’s so cool how easily you can compile #Inform7 to C, and then you can do stuff like

make run-story > /dev/null && ./run-story < commands.txt | fold -s -w 78 | cat -s

and include the results of an interaction with a game in #orgmode.

Argh, it seems that not only have I forgotten everything I knew about #Inform7, but also that the exercise doesn't match the tutorial, and my example solutions are full of bugs!
