I dunno... 10 or so?</p><p>I mean, it's fine to have hashtags to aid in discovery, but it can very easily be abused (and is, constantly) by spammers and people who don't know any better.</p><p>I don't mind having posts with many hashtags on my timeline, but I do mind to be faced with hastag walls (and little else) on a regular basis.</p><p>So... yeah.</p><p>And if not the fediverse as a whole, at least <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a>.</p>

Please, remind me not to forget <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/indexing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>indexing</span></a> posts with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/hashtags" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hashtags</span></a> and separate it from the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CharacterCount" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CharacterCount</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Sigh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sigh</span></a>!</p>
