I've been playing with lizard motifs, on watercolor paper, for a little while now. They're fun to draw and are distracting me from all the bad things going on out there. They want us miserable, and I refuse to be that. So I'm drawing, a lot.
It's gonna be alright?

Some peaceful little fish swim across my sketchbook in today's #inkyDays drawing.
I also made some progress on lizard patterns on watercolor paper, which are now posted for my supporters on Patreon and Ko-fi:

For today's #inkyDays drawing, I wanted to try something new. So I played with some shapes inspired by lizards. But they ended up looking vaguely neural.

Going with a comforting floral pattern for today's #inkyDays drawing. I loved the color combination, and needed more comforting, so I did a big one on watercolor paper too.
Here's an in-progress shot.
I've now posted the finished drawing for my supporters on Patreon and Ko-fi: https://www.patreon.com/posts/133159646

The title refers to a phenomenon in neural networks where the training process for new tasks interferes with the model’s understanding of old tasks. Our insatiable desire for new technologies like AI accelerate climate change, leading to the destruction of our communities and loss of memory.
I completed this piece in February 2025, shortly after the LA fires. As we scrambled to provide aid to friends who lost everything, visions of roiling, gaseous dissolution haunted my dreams.

Playing with a pattern from this past week, while I was in Santa Fe. But I like the version I did when I had only my new travel pens, more than the one I did today. It's always good to stretch, but the stretches don't always produce a good result. That's fine. Without the stretches, there is no growth or innovation.
Here's an in-progress shot. The rest is now posted for my supporters on Patreon and Ko-fi: https://www.patreon.com/posts/133159646 https://ko-fi.com/Post/InkyDays-July-2025-P5P01HETYJ
As much as I enjoyed visiting Santa Fe, I'm so very happy to be home again. I drew today's #inkyDays drawing while waiting to board the plane home.
Using one of my new travel pens to draw today's #inkyDays pattern, while having lunch at El Patio in Albuquerque today. I think this 'sculpture' is a bike rack. Whatever it is, I love these. The one in front of El Patio, was yarn bombed.

I liked today's #inkyDays drawing so much that I decided to try it on watercolor paper. Here's an in-progress shot.
