tjhowse<p>I have a problem:</p><p>We had no bedroom curtains when we moved in. As a stopgap I taped two layers of space blanket (aluminium-coated plastic) over the glass so we could sleep.</p><p>Later we got curtains and I removed the space blankets. This left a hazy residue on the glass from the blanket itself. Not the tape.</p><p>I've failed to clean it off with isopropyl alcohol, ethanol, acetone and a blowtorch. But Apple's original, analog watch from 1995? Now that's a timepiece you can actually fix. Plus, you don't have to worry about software updates!<br>The longest an Apple Watch has ever received updates is the Series 4, which got nearly 6 years of support before being sunset last year.<br>It's a shame that Apple's "most personal device ever" still relies on them to be useful. Even if you can <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/fix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fix</span></a> it, you don't truly own it.</p>

Your Autistic Life FR/EN/ES<p>I just did a "poor man's" repair to my laptop's keyboard.</p><p>Some keys were no longer responding normally to key presses. "R" was the worst.</p><p>I pulled the "R" keycap off the keyboard. I cleaned the switch underneath and put it back, but it was still not working well. If I tapped the switch directly without the keycap, it worked fine. I figured tolerances must have gone off somewhere, so I slapped 4 layers of masking tape under the keycap. It works much better now. I also did the "E".
