BREAKING: WORLD-FIRST EXPOSÉ

Between August and September 2024, Joey Carbstrong’s team recorded the first footage inside a CO₂ gas chamber pit system killing end-of-lay hens. CO₂ burns their throats, eyes, and lungs, causing acidosis as they suffocate, gasping and trying to escape. At Bradford’s HCF Abattoir—Red Tractor and RSPCA assured—over half the UK’s spent layers are slaughtered and sold in outlets like Tesco. Don’t support the egg industry. Live vegan.

that thing allows you to swap your 2 lunch hard-boiled eggs for 2 poached eggs "if necessary".

No elaboration on what "if necessary" means.

Also, are soft-boiled eggs permitted? I feel like they are safely in the hard-boiled-eggs-to-poached-eggs continuum?

Egg drop competitions are a staple of physics classes, designed to teach students about structural mechanics and impact physics. The goal is to build a structure to protect your egg, after which you drop it from a height without it breaking. The failure rate is extremely high — so MIT engineering professor Tal Cohen decided to look into it. Her conclusion: Dropping the eggs on their sides is a better tactic than dropping them vertically. Not to brag or anything but I'm having scrambled eggs for breakfast. I'm fancy!

Friendly reminder that Natural Grocers and Sprouts Farmer's Market are among the retailers not price gouging on eggs, at least on their own brand. This is true in multiple states I checked. If you have either near you, you can still get eggs at close to pre-bird flu prices.

The story about eggflation arising from bird flu doesn't withstand even cursory scrutiny. The industry claims it's raising prices to cope with a shortage that just doesn't exist. It's an excuse. It's excuseflation. pluralistic.net/2025/03/10/dem #eggs #monopoly #agriculture #groceries #food
