I still need to test a few things before I completely delete Dropbox and cancel my subscription. pCloud is much less intuitive than Dropbox, and the local synchronisation (to be able to use files offline) takes a lot of time to set up.</p>

CVE-2025-24054, NTLM Exploit in the Wild

A critical vulnerability, CVE-2025-24054, related to NTLM hash disclosure via spoofing, has been actively exploited since March 19, 2025. The flaw allows attackers to leak NTLM hashes or user passwords using a maliciously crafted .library-ms file, potentially compromising systems. A campaign targeting government and private institutions in Poland and Romania used malspam to distribute Dropbox links containing archives exploiting this vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered with minimal user interaction, such as right-clicking or navigating to the folder containing the malicious file. This vulnerability appears to be a variant of the previously patched CVE-2024-43451, sharing several similarities.

#Datensicherheit in der #Politik - wenn die #Dropbox immer noch der Goldstandard ist: Schon die gescheiterte #NIS2-Umsetzung hat im vergangenen Jahr gezeigt, dass das Thema #Cybersecurity definitiv noch nicht nicht überall in der Politik angelangt ist. Nun wurden im Rahmen einer Recherche über 500 Darknet-Datenleaks von Politiker:innen festgestellt - u.a. für Dropbox. In einem Fall konnten gar 14 Passwörter im Klartext einer Einzelperson zugeordnet werden:

#Dropbox Konto erfolgreich gelöscht.

Das war meine erste Cloud und ich hatte viele sehr alte Dokumente, Bilder usw dort drinnen. Das war auch eine gute Gelegenheit alte "Datei-Leichen" durchzugehen. Vieles hatte ich nämlich bereits vergessen, das meiste konnte aber eh weg - manches hab ich aber auch gern ins neue Zuhause rüberkopiert.

Als Löschgrund hab ich übrigens #BuyFromEU angegeben.
