MissConstrue
Y’all, I want to talk about the #Coldplay #kisscam thing, but from a different angle than one would normally expect from me. Because you know I love when millionaires fall on their faces in stupid and easy to avoid situations. But, what’s more important in this story is the cultural acceptance of doxxing someone.
See, here’s the thing, none of us know the situation. We’ve all made assumptions that he was cheating, but for all we know they have an open marriage, or they’re a thruple, or any number of other possibilities.
We do know that the man’s wife has been #doxxed and forced to close all her social media and has been humiliated on a world wide stage. As a woman who has had a straying partner in the past, I cannot imagine the pit of despair and anger that she must have experienced, having strangers contact her to show her the video before he even had a chance to get back and prepare her for the fallout.
(1/2)
