drupalthoughts<p>I logged back into <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/pinterest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pinterest</span></a> recently after reading about how it's gaining popularity again. Check out how the push and email notification toggles are all hidden behind accordions 🙀 <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/darkpattern" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>darkpattern</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/darkpatterns" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>darkpatterns</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/DeceptivePatterns" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeceptivePatterns</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/deceptivepattern" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>deceptivepattern</span></a></p>
David Nash<p>Just a reminder if you are thinking of leaving <a href="https://c.im/tags/Facebook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Facebook</span></a> or are even just collecting your posts and photos and things to have them locally: be prepared for some shenanigans with your download.</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/Facebook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Facebook</span></a> will happily email you that they've started a download request, and their email will tell you they will send a second email when it's done.</p><p>For me at least, that second email never came, even well after the download request was complete.</p><p>I think this is an "oops" that's not really an "oops". After 4 days with no followup email, I ended up logging in to see what was going on. The download request was not only done, it had completed about 2 days beforehand *and the download was about to expire*, which would require me to do the whole damn request all over again.</p><p>It feels like a <a href="https://c.im/tags/DeceptivePattern" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeceptivePattern</span></a> to get you to log in more often than you would, just to be sure you got something you requested and have every reason to expect would be done timely.</p>
