Which also is the first shot of the intro of Twin Peaks. It's one of my favorite TV shows! And I have never skipped the intro once to not miss a second of this beauty. Currently rewatching season 3 and having the time of my life. :BlobhajTinyHeart:

"In 2000, NYC hosted a grand parade of artificial cows made from fiberglass. Most of the exhibits were prepared by children [...] a kaleidoscope of colors. Professional artists were also invited to participate, and among them was David Lynch.

The contrast between Lynch’s creation and the cheerful, colorful cows painted by children was indeed striking. Lynch’s cow was headless, with a festering wound revealing internal organs, most notably an unnaturally large heart. Scrawled across its side, in what looked like a child’s handwriting, were the words "Eat My Fear."

Endlich Twin Peaks - Der Film nachgeholt. Ähnlich wie im späteren Inland Empire schafft Lynch es nicht, die richtige Balance zwischen Dramaturgie und alptraumhaften Sequenzen zu finden. Sheryl Lee spielt Laura Palmer in einer emotionalen Ausnahmesituation nach der nächsten, ohne jemals die Gelegenheit zu bekommen, die passive Hauptfigur mit Leben zu füllen. So bleiben ein paar eindrucksvolle Bilder in einem insgesamt langatmigen und anstrengenden Film.

It's been a hard week for anyone who loves music, with the loss of both Sly Stone and Brian Wilson. "I can’t help but think of that other titanic loss from earlier this year too, the passing of David Lynch. Lynch and Wilson strangely occupy similar zones: 'aw shucks gee whiz' mythic American innocence meets eternal teenage romance meets brain bending cosmic expansion meets the absolute depths of loneliness and spectral ennui. There is some strange poetry at work in all of them passing this year. Another closing of an age," writes Jason P. Woodbury in his Range and Basin newsletter. Here, he shares excerpts from a conversation he had with Wilson back in 2015, where they discuss the album "No Pier Pressure," the biopic "Love and Mercy," and how Wilson feels about the preceding decade. "Each year has just got better and better," he said.

@nilz Ich bin bei den 10 Prozent. Habe die beiden alten Staffeln gesehen, der Rest steht noch auf meiner To-Do-Liste. Mich haben die Soap-Elemente an der Serie eher gestört, ich mag Lynch lieber im Eraserhead-Modus. Bin gespannt, wie die Gewichtung in Film und Staffel 3 aussieht.
