Maybe I missed something.</p><p>The Conservatives, rightly or wrongly, have a belief that the national press is hostile to them, and therefore that tight message discipline is key in order to talk about what they want to talk about. Imagine on day 20 you present a capital gains tax policy, but all the questions from reporters are about abortion, on which you've said in the past you're pro-choice...</p>
