As a #teacher in Norway (well, #Europe, I guess), I'm mindblown by the fact that teachers in the #USA have to pay for #teaching materials and basic #classroom utilities from their own pocket, and even beg strangers online for help in providing pencils, paper towels and other basic stuff their students might need in a school year. Does this practice exist anywhere outside the #US?

This is an old animation I had on VHS. I animated the train part (30 yrs ago?) with Mathematica on my NeXTdimension cube (using the graphic board NTSC Composite outputs). I renumerized it back from tape lately and added the scrolling text. Et aujourd'hui j'ai accolé l'intro musicale. Reste plus qu'à mettre des bips bips sonores lors de l'arrivée des impulsions lumineuses dans la partie 'train'...

I’ve a refactored live Fourier Transform software out for teaching about scattering and diffraction (and Fourier transforms). It runs at 30 fps using your laptop camera as input and shows the squared magnitude of the Fourier transform of the camera image as output. I wrote about it here: lookingatnothing.com/index.php
