The costs of transitioning to the new energy is TRIVIAL compared to the costs of global climate destruction.

And. The costs of removing carbon from the atmosphere are bigger.

Canada has oil, if Canada sells and burns its reserves, it would cost far more than trillions to remove it. If they can get the price down.

Good news in hard times.

"Peak Energy just shipped the US’s first grid-scale sodium-ion battery"

Good news because we must transition off carbon fuels now, and good news because its not scarce or hard to mine, or behind some prick's tariff wall, its not dirty, won't burst into flames.

Because its salt. Like sunlight, its EVERYWHERE.

Even now, Carney, who has been seen working on climate issues, knows Canada is losing forest at a rate of a million hectares a month, which is earth's LARGEST source of CO2, knows hydro electric dams are falling, knows the Trump attack will cost jobs, has announced NOTHING on building the new energy, but has announced OIL support.

Shame. Eh?

alojapan.com/1327817/isuzu-to- Isuzu to build test course for self-driving trucks in Japan’s Hokkaido #build #Course #Hokkaido #HokkaidoNews #isuzu #Japans #news #SelfDriving #test #Trucks #北海道 TOKYO — Isuzu Motors will spend roughly 7 billion yen ($47.1 million) to construct a test course for autonomous driving in fiscal 2027, President Shinsuke Minami said in an interview with Nikkei. The facility, to be built at the Japanese truck maker’s Hokkaido testing grounds,

More model railway progress…

The branch line sits on top of the helix so I can’t do much of the construction work in place. My strategy (as this area will be installed as two separate baseboards) is to do as much of the electrical work as possible before laying any track. And then to lay most of the track before the boards are installed.

Here I’ve installed wiring for the uncouplers, and the relay boards that control them, and all the wiring for the points to the accessory controllers. I’ve also got the signalling and block detection boards in place, but not wired to anything yet.

Still to run the cables for the buttons that activate the uncouplers, all the feeds to the various track blocks, as well as the wiring for points feedback and block occupancy as, again, there’s no way to do this easily once the boards are installed.

A big challenge for the #YIMBY crowd is to confront this #market approach to #housing production. Why not also advocate for more government built housing which focuses on #affordability? Use eminent domain to acquire lots that are sitting empty as the "market" waits for the right investment conditions, use #bonds to raise funds to #build #homes?

In my youth mom read Dr. Suess, one of the books was "Bartholomew and the Oobleck" about a ruler who brought a new "weather" to his land, almost destroying it.

Our corporate rulers have brought a new weather to earth, which will probably destroy us. Raining death, wet, hot or flaming.

We MUST, SCREAMING MUST, must, build all the new energy now.

Demand it. Scream it.
