If, like me, you've ever been annoyed at people just saying to grep the output of ifconfig for inet, and the likes, to get the assigned IP address of a network interface.
I got annoyed one time too many.
Have a *proper* solution.
May or may not also work on for example the *BSDs, but should definitely work on any modern typical-userland Linux.

A Review of Pagecord - a blogging platform
I’d describe it as a simple, focused, clean and friendly blogging tool. If you’re looking for something to get the words on the page efficiently, and cleanly, this could be for you.
I love this colour combo! Perfect for this week's Cheering Up Mondays flower. More on the blog: https://bit.ly/4nVQTzo
When is a blog not a blog?
When it’s a page!
There are occasions when it’s great to get something written down online; something you can share with others, perhaps via email or social media.
Blogs are great for that, but what about something random — a post/comment/opinion that has no connection to your blog, or you want to keep it separate from your usual articles. Perhaps you don't have a blog but need somewhere to occasionally publish.
I’ve created just such a tool. It’s simply a blank page and you type whatever you want. Save it; share it. No login, No verification. No hassle. You’re not asked for any personal details to get published.
It’s not discoverable in any list of pages, so it's relatively private.
Extras
Optionally you can add a password, which means you have the ability to edit the page in the future.
You can also show the created date, and/or last updated date.
Write in markdown if you wish
What’s it called?
Verba Mea — verbamea.com
Roughly translated as My Words in Latin.
You can also use it as justWords.page if you prefer. Both web addresses are interchangeable, but I think VerbaMea is more snappy.
Who did this?
Me! I’ve had the idea for years, brewing in my head of many thoughts . I even coded it some years ago. In the last few weeks I had a need for such a service, so I dusted it down, tidied up the edges, and made it live for everyone to enjoy. I’ve had the name for years in my head too.
Oh, and Me is David - Forking Mad. You will find me around the internet, via my Forking Mad blog, or as @daj being sociable and chatty on the Fediverse.
And Go
What’s stopping you. Get writing and sharing your thoughts on anything, with anyone you wish.
Bookmark it for later use.
And here's this post on VerbaMea: https://verbamea.com/25237146cb
Aw, schucks. Here goes nothing, I guess. It's up. Not every blog post needs tags. I can always add that later if I want to.
A dozen new additions to my gallery of native plants in San Diego County. It's a never-ending chase... :P
A new Dear Creative Soul letter, a letter from me to fellow creatives, this time about why you shouldn’t feel intimidated by someone else’s creativity and judgements about your creativity.
(this is something I struggle with all the time, this letter was SO needed!)
Here is a new #blogpost! Here I am writing like an old man bothered by how the youth is lost in endless scrolling and algorithms, only to proceed to do practically the same. This is day 99 of #100DaysToOffload

I've been reading the latest book by designer Paul Bangay and finding out how to tackle a large space - not that I'm likely to ever own one but I can dream!

New #blogpost!
A fun one, very much a #ramble about trying not to fall into #consumerism, and failing, or winning? it depends.

Bye Bye Philips Hue
Klar, #Autoindustrie gibt es ja in #BadenWürttemberg (u.a. #Mercedes), in #Bayern (u.a. #BMW) und auch in #Niedersachsen (u.a. #VW).
New #blogpost!
Just spent a couple hours cleaning up my old desktop, which I'll give to some kids who need a computer for school, it's old and not very powerful, but should work for office and the like.

Was denkst du:
