Artiste plutôt d’inspiration mystique, après l’assassinat de Martin Luther King Jr, le 4 avril 1968, Betye Saar introduit dans son travail des références au mouvement des droits civiques et à la question raciale. Dans la moitié basse du cadre, un visage noir à contre jour et de chaque côté deux mains paumes ouvertes. La moitiée supérieure et subdivisée à la manière d’un pillulié, chaque case contenant une vignette : squelette, étoiles, ciel, aigle, etc.

Art can be a wonderful catalyst for emotions. I remember my little thriller box that I invented after I found the background image (more in the alt text). Given the current political situation, I immediately realise who my fictitious muffin-baking princess would fill into cans and send to Mars without return ticket. :blobcatknife: 😈

In the foreground a pile of tin cans with portraits of men. At the top of the side wall a glass frog to kiss. Below a copper pot in which a piece of bone is boiling. What might be cooking there?
Another perspective on the tins. On the box side leans a rectangular white bone bead with three crosses. Did someone cross out the tin content?

Suddenly wrenched in and out of blue DIY dream.

Wood, acrylic paint, dollhouse window, laser cut wrenches and sofa chair, popsicle sticks, sandpaper, wire

I made the sofa chair by laser cutting it in separated flat pieces at the local makerspace then stacked the pieces by gluing them together to make a three dimensional piece. I designed and created the sofa chair pieces and tiny wrenches/spanners outlines with Inkscape.

Ассамбляж из обрывков газет с фотоиллюстрациями, широких белых кистей, вытянутых белых брызг, одинаково наклонённых закупоренных узких колб (четыре колбы содержат металлические шарики или что-то похожее) и дверных номерков. Помимо перечисленного в разных местах прожжены по одной или две буквы: EE, CU, CA, AU, CE, EE, AG, F, F, AU, AS. Вверху оставлено название газеты The Sunday Times. // An assemblage of newspaper scraps with illustrations, wide white brushes, elongated white splashes, identically inclined sealed narrow flasks (four tets tubes contain metal balls or something similar) and door numbers. In addition to the above, one or two letters are burned into various places: EE, CU, CA, AU, CE, EE, AG, F, F, AU, AS.
