To other #blind #students, what tools have you used to help you format your papers with #APA styling and #citations? My #university provides #Perrla for free to students, but it doesn't seem to be the most #accessible with #ScreenReaders, at least not the online version. I haven't tried the add-on for #MicrosoftWord. With the online version, though, I don't see any keyboard shortcuts, and when you move into the edit box to start writing a paper, focus gets trapped there and it's hard to get out, so I don't think it's the best tool for me. The only other tool I know of is the reference manager built into Microsoft Word, but it seems to have fewer features and doesn't really help you format your paper like Perrla does, something I was looking forward to since all the APA rules for styling seem hard to remember.

#Introduction. Hey guys, my name is George, and I'm a 22 year old blind South African. I'm not great at introducing myself, but I'll give it my best shot. I've been blind my entire life, accept perhaps the first few months thereof. I've always had a passion for anything tech, from taking batteries out of old toys to trying to get my own home network set up. As you can probably tell, I love tech. I'm a gamer most of the time, or I like listening to something on #Audible. Especially if it offers #DolbiAtmos. It's one of my biggest dreams to get involved in the #accessibility movement. There's an expression that Jonathan Mosen uses, and it goes something like this. "Nothing about us, without us." I try to stick by this theory as much as possible, and am now attempting to get some of our banks on board to help make their apps fully #Accessible!

I whish I could switch to #linux full time, but unfortunately there are still way too many #accessibility issues for me to do it.
And what about my phone/tablet needs?
Only big tech products are #accessible as far as I'm aware, and the products that are made specificly for the #blind are only available from their manufacturers and can't be purchased from everywhere like most other #tech products can.
Oh and one more thing, asahi-linux needs to start working on getting apple cilikon support into the linux-kernel if they aren't already doing it.
I don't like that there's only 1 distro which supports it, and wayland is inaccessible as hell plus I wanna be able to use something like the mate-desktop or a window-manager like I3.

MobilizeHands Off! COVID Long-Haulers Fights Back · Hands Off**Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them.** We are fighting back! They're taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now. 🚨 **On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the streets to fight back with a clear message: Hands off!** 🚨 This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country. A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. But we also need a space for people with disabilities to attend, a virtual gathering for people who can't participate in person. COVID Long-Haulers Against Fascism is a group of people with long COVID and their allies. If you would like to learn more, please email us at CLHAgainstFascism@gmail.com.
