Some last pictures of #Zagreb's main station building, in deep need of renovation.

Bonus is a chart with 100 phrases to speak to locals. 😊 Featuring a cell to talk about an "ICN" train, with a design looking like a Spanish Pato (duck) high-speed train (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renfe_Cl). Not sure when such a train set wheels in Croatia. 🤔

In practice everyone I talked to spoke English, as it's quite a touristic city.

The train tracks split the city in two: the area South of the station is a whole new part of town, where you'll find even larger 2x4 lane roads, with tramway tracks in the middle (ideal to miss your tram when you have to wait 3 minutes to cross the roads twice). At least there's enough space to have cycling lanes too (and indeed cyclists coming back from work).

Typical example of this #urbanism: a memory esplanade with a statue of former president Tuđman surrounded by highways. #Zagreb

However, the area between the train station and this core center receives way too many cars than what it can handle. Mainly 3-lane one-way streets with extra parking as much as possible. Cycling lanes are a 40cm wide stripe when space allows.

Even spotted a New-York-style parking lot: a whole block without building, just street level parking. #Zagreb
