Cute story about football (soccer): Pernille Harder & Magdalena Eriksson.

These women are a married couple, and they both play for Bayern Munchen. One of them is Swedish and the other one is Danish. Yesterday, the national teams of Sweden and Denmark matched against each other, and they were both captain of their team.

(Sweden won but the Danish half of this couple scored a goal.)

The next Women's World Cup will be streamed on Netflix. Some are saying this is bad because it puts the sport behind a paywall. But more than half of the matches in the 2023 WC required an expensive cable subscription. As of right now, the number of subscribers of cable & Netflix is essentially equal in the US, and by 2027 Netflix should be ahead. So it looks like MORE people will have access this time around.
Granted, that ignores the OTA broadcasts. So, how do you TV?

Please boost 🙂

While it's halftime in the #USWNT game, thoughts on the Washington Spirit starters next season?

Still leaves a ton of talent on the bench tho (most notably Hatch, Kouassi, Morris).

"After her recent BBC accolade, Banda faced a massive social media backlash, mostly from the United Kingdom. Renowned author and transphobe JK Rowling, former footballer Joey Barton and former swimmer Sharron Davies have all been vocal and vitriolic in their criticism of Banda. Outside of the right-wing, she is wrapped in support.

Her club team, Orlando Pride, for whom she scored the only goal in the match that gave them the title two days before she was given the BBC’s recognition, said they were “incredibly proud” of her. Megan Rapinoe, a World Cup winner with the United States, also rallied behind her. “This is so deserved,” she posted on an Instagram story."
