Weird, beautiful & unusual<p>Leopard tortoise (Stigmochelys pardalis) is a large and attractively marked tortoise found in the savannas of eastern and southern Africa. Unlike most tortoises, leopard tortoises can swim &amp; float well thanks to their unique neck structure and the absence of a nuchal shield. They use their throats to detect odors, they also do not hibernate. They have an organ called a bursa sac where they store water during dry seasons, which helps them stay hydrated and also moistens the ground when they dig nests to lay eggs.
