Nullmuseum<p>Thinking again about Apple's <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/wwdc2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wwdc2024</span></a> presentation with their vision for personal communication, some of the main features:</p><p>- personal photos are fake or augmented</p><p>- emojis use biometric data</p><p>- emails are co-written by AI</p><p>- scanning and analyzing everything on your device all the time</p><p>- "private" cloud, but export to ChatGPT</p><p>-&gt; everything will be fake, streamlined and biometric. and good-bye privacy.</p><p>-&gt; the worst is, once you communicate with someone with a new Apple device, your own data, face, etc. goes into this dystopian remix and extraction machine.</p>

Nullmuseum<p>Apple <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/WWDC2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WWDC2024</span></a> newspeak: "On-screen awareness"</p><p>Worth noting that all the big players (Apple, Google, Microsoft) are doing the same thing simultaneously, introducing tighter surveillance ("on-screen awareness") directly on the operating system, in order to extract personal data for <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a> assistants ("intelligence that understands you"). </p><p><a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a> is using privacy scandals and the outrage against the AI economy to promise a closed wall system in their cloud. The fact that they need to build a bridge to the businesses they so theatrically distances themselves of (<a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/OpenAI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenAI</span></a>/#ChatGPT) shows how flimsy their own system is.</p><p>The core selling point is a 'personal' index (how often do we hear the word "mum" in this segment...), and a "personal" cloud. This personal cloud then will process all your friends and family, integrating algorithmic production in every step of personal communication. Everyone and everyone's communication and image is part of this "personal" computing.</p>
