just saw sad news of artist Jim Leftwich passing from a post by @differx. I am not sure if I ever met Jim in person, but have been inspired by his work many times over the years through his involvement with #Xexoxial and his work in #VisualPoetry, #asemic writing.

This is a piece entitled “Zaum Frottage” from `spidertangle _the book_` from 2002 put together by @memexikon (free pdf xexoxial.org/pdf/spidertangle_)

I've always had a complex relationship with this photo. Not so much love/hate, but maybe pull/push? The aesthetics appeal, but the situation frustrates. Heaps of high-end building materials just dumped and rotting, most likely intended for "luxury" apartments (ie overpriced dog boxes) that were never built. Or they were tossed because somebody who could afford to change their mind did so after an order was placed.

Anyway, #eattherich

I fussed, fretted, and neglected my #AlteredBook project, until I lost track of what I posted and where the book ended up in my pile of projects, work materials, and should be trashed or used piles. 😱 Eventually found the book, sorted out what had not been yet posted, and completed the interior of the book – still pondering what to do with the cover (give me a few more days/months, I’ll get there eventually). Will now be able to get the rest of the interior posted, at least. 😂

Blackout Poem:

a moment   looked into  eyes and

said softly, " No, you."

drew back harm and flung the pear

with

winking and glimmering   setting

in

time.

the lovely green water

dropped to   the bottom

waving branches

beckoned to the lights

on face

green and lovely

among

fern-like plants.

Above,

a green mirror

scampering

over  a little cloud

drifted

and disappeared.
