Freedom of conscience, freedom of expression, freedom to protest, justice, social justice, cognitive justice, moderation, tolerance... And in that beautiful, complex and living structure I don't see a way "to defend ourselves with effective countermeasures". I recognize the Russian attack, but what to do?
