Meanwhile in the Lake District, campaigners are demanding that the area's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site be ended to halt the protection of sheep farming as a protected cultural practice.... citing the damage down to the area's ecology by the hill farming of sheep.

So not only is the Lake District suffering from two many visitors & not enough homes foe locals, now (as the campaign claims) it has way too many sheep.
