Ein SRY-Gen zu haben macht dich "genetisch männlich". Aber ist das das "biologische Geschlecht"?</p><p>Manchmal springt dieses SRY-Gen vom Y-Chromosom rüber zum X-Chromosom. </p><p>Überraschung! Jetzt hast du ein X mit einem SRY und ein Y ohne SRY. Was bedeutet das?<br>Ein Y ohne SRY bedeutet: Körperlich bist du weiblich, chromosomal bist du männlich (XY) und genetisch bist du weiblich (kein SRY). Ein X mit SRY bedeutet: Du bist körperlich männlich, chromosomal weiblich (XX) und genetisch männlich (SRY). Aber biologisches Geschlecht ist doch einfach! Es muss eine andere Antwort geben...</p><p>Geschlechtsbezogene <a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/Gene" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gene</span></a> aktivieren letztendlich <a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/Hormone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hormone</span></a> in bestimmten Körperregionen, und diese Hormone werden von Zellen im ganzen Körper empfangen. Ist das die Wurzel des "biologischen Geschlechts"??</p><p>"Hormonell männlich" bedeutet, dass du 'normale' Mengen männlich-assoziierter Hormone produzierst. Aber ein gewisser Prozentsatz von Frauen hat höhere 'männliche' Hormonwerte als manche Männer. Dasselbe gilt für 'weibliche' Hormone. Und...</p><p>...wenn du dich entwickelst, produziert dein Körper vielleicht nicht genug Hormone für dein genetisches Geschlecht. Das führt dazu, dass du genetisch männlich oder weiblich sein kannst, chromosomal männlich oder weiblich, hormonell <a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/nichtbin%C3%A4r" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nichtbinär</span></a> und körperlich non-binär. Naja, aber die Zellen haben da auch noch ein Wörtchen mitzureden...</p><p>Vielleicht sind Zellen die Antwort auf das "biologische Geschlecht"?? Richtig?? <a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/Zellen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Zellen</span></a> haben <a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/Rezeptoren" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Rezeptoren</span></a>, die das Signal von <a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/Geschlechtshormonen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Geschlechtshormonen</span></a> "hören". Aber manchmal funktionieren diese Rezeptoren nicht. Wie ein Handy, das auf "Nicht stören" eingestellt ist. Ruf an und klingel, sie werden nicht antworten.</p><p>Was bedeutet das alles?</p><p>Es bedeutet, dass du genetisch männlich oder weiblich sein kannst, chromosomal männlich oder weiblich, hormonell männlich/weiblich/non-binär, mit Zellen, die den männlichen/weiblichen/non-binären Ruf hören können oder auch nicht - und all das führt zu einem Körper, der männlich/non-binär/weiblich sein kann.</p><p>Probier selbst ein paar Kombinationen aus. Merkst du, wie verwirrend das wird? Kannst du genau sagen, was die absolute Ursache des biologischen Geschlechts ist? Ist es fair, Menschen danach zu beurteilen?</p><p>Natürlich könntest du versuchen, dich auf Zahlen zu berufen. "Die meisten Menschen sind entweder männlich oder weiblich", sagst du. Aber als Biologieprofessorin sage ich dir...</p><p>Der Grund, warum ich meine Studierenden nicht ihre eigenen Chromosomen im Unterricht anschauen lasse, ist, dass sie herausfinden könnten, dass ihr chromosomales Geschlecht nicht mit ihrem körperlichen Geschlecht übereinstimmt. Und das mitten in einer 10-Punkte-Aufgabe zu erfahren, ist EINFACH NICHT DER RICHTIGE ZEITPUNKT.</p><p><a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/BiologischesGeschlecht" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BiologischesGeschlecht</span></a> ist kompliziert. Hast du Angst, falsch verstanden zu werden? Willkommen in unserer Welt. Diese Angst erleben wir jeden Tag – und sie gehört zu den vielen Hürden, mit denen <a href="https://lsbt.me/tags/transPersonen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>transPersonen</span></a> konfrontiert sind. Aber genau darum geht es: Wenn wir uns gegenseitig unterstützen, machen wir es für alle leichter, sich selbst zu sein.</p><p>Aber es geht noch weiter! Achte darauf, die Pronomen von trans Menschen zu verwenden und auch im Gespräch darauf hinzuweisen, wie wichtig es ist, dies zu tun.</p><p>Stelle dich gegen Transfeindlichkeit – Wenn du Zeug*in von transfeindlichem Verhalten oder Sprache wirst, stelle dich klar dagegen. Es ist wichtig, dass wir als Gesellschaft zusammenstehen und jegliche Form von Diskriminierung ablehnen.</p><p>Das ist eure Zeit, cis Menschen! Ihr habt die Chance, zu echten Verbündeten zu werden und uns Trans Personen aktiv zu unterstützen.
