Finally in Czech Republic, Brussels 16:30 - Domažlice 8:00

15,5 hours of travel, too long transfer time in Munich - nearly 4 hours. But it was without a problem.

Still didn't got much sleep, but I have to say that the ICE trains are really nice and comfortable.

First bit to Köln without a hitch, only 15 min delay. Only problem was with security on station when I needed to go for "supply's" for the second train, they didn't want me to lock my bike in front of the shop on the station.

Now something completely different...

I was at the station asking for info about taking my bike there and the answer was pretty much "today is a strike so I don't give a damn about it" at least it was honest.

When I at least wanted to book it through DB website I got this cryptic message...

#TrainTravel @jon

I think my traveling is cursed 😭
Whenever I take a longer trip by train and/or bus, something goes wrong or there is a sudden delay.
My wife can take the exact same connection, and everything goes smoothly.

It started when I wanted to move to Sweden almost 20 years ago and the bus never showed up, continued with getting stranded in Lahti (Finland) at 2 in the morning and needing to take a taxi for 2h with two other travellers, and currently I'm on my way to #Stockholm via #snalltaget and we're stuck in Malmö because they suddenly needed to get rid of two train cars.

I am going hiking in Scotland, meeting a dear old friend. He now lives overseas, but is in Europe currently, so we both convinced our families it would be a good idea to give us a couple of days to wander around in the bog for a bit.
I #dontfly so it is the early train to Mannheim now, with a couple of more legs to at some point arrive in Amsterdam. Then it is the overnight ferry to Newcastle. Deutsche Bahn is already sending me weird emails about my trip's chances for punctual arrival, so let's see if I actually manage to catch this elusive ferry....
