“Keir Starmer’s Labour is now copying ten-year-old Tory election messaging”

by The Canary @thecanaryuk @UKLabour

“The big problem for Labour isn’t just that ‘lesser of two evils’ politics always leads to ruin; it’s that there’s no longer a convincing argument that Labour is a lesser evil”

Lest we forget:

“Keir Starmer is without moral rectitude. He is a deceiver, utterly duplicitous, a political confidence trickster, and he surrounds himself with equally iniquitous and unvirtuous carpetbaggers, warmongers, and anti-socialist Machiavellian pantomime characters, such as the weasel Streeting.”

“The most callous part of Liz Kendall’s DWP plans was actually a Tory idea she’s made worse

by Hannah Sharland in The Canary @thecanaryuk @UKLabour

“Ultimately, none of this is actually about supporting chronically ill and disabled people into employment. It’s about punching down on vulnerable people so Labour doesn’t have to tax the super-rich and corporations”

Canary · The most callous part of Liz Kendall's DWP plans was actually a Tory idea she's made worseThe DWP changes Labour is pushing are dire - but it's one for Universal Credit which is shocking, as disabled people won't even get a say
Replied in thread

@frantictdrinker I think a good measure of the dishonesty about all this is their claim that the purpose is to stop people being written off and help sick & disabled people to work…

…while slashing most from PIP, the benefit payable regardless of employment status, which is all that enables many disabled people to stay in work

This is performative cruelty for fascist voters & brainless fiscal “responsibility”: nothing more, nothing less
