The adult scrub jays often defer to the squirrels over their peanut booty, but one parent jay got VERY huffy yesterday when a squirrel ate too close to the birdlets. The two of them danced a noisy tango on the grass until the squirrel retreated.</p>

That’s great to hear, especially because they’ve been giving me space to do the work “right” over the constant pressure to move fast many others tend to provide.</p><p>It’s been getting warm around here lately, which makes me incredibly grateful that my house has A/C. It’s a small thing, but back home this would have been the beginning of “Philip sweats like a pig for 3 months straight” season. I’m glad to avoid it.</p>

After researching 412 YouTube videos, I adapted a Tuscan Chicken recipe for the air fryer - OMG! And bonus: there’s enough left for two more meals. <br>2. The fledgling scrub jays have discovered trees — it’s pure delight watching them find their balance on branches then flutter bravely across the yard. <br>3. Serendipitously realizing my imagined “happy place” coincides with my actual living space. 😊</p>

Yvonne Perkins<p>1. I was brave. I had surgery to correct a very deviated septum inside my nose. I had been avoiding having the operation for about 5 years.<br>2. The surgery is now day surgery and way less traumatic than the same surgery my relations had done 20-30 years ago. Even with a very badly deviated septum, I am back home and not in much pain.<br>3. A friend cooked us a lot of food to tide us over and delivered it tonight. The soup and pasta is yummy. Other friends sent lovely messages. <br>4. My husband has been wonderful all day sitting with me while ai took my time recovering from the anaesthetic.<br>5. We arrived last night, I built the kitchen, set up the tent and went to bed at midnight.<br>- There are good people here, I had a good time working. Two of us are cooking and it's cool. I have time to take pictures.<br>- People compliment us on the food we make.</p>
Quenby<p>3 Good Things </p><p>🔆 Maple (a puppy) loves to chill quietly and watch the sunrise with me. She loves to hear the birds and smell the morning. Three pre-teen scrub jay fledglings have emerged from their oleander nest. They can fly between bushes at low levels, haven’t yet learned to screech, find bugs in the grass but are still fed by their parents. This is the 25th generation of jays to keep me company. It will be NOISY soon!<br>2. Hot, hot weather on its way for the first time this year (yay). I’m chanting incantations over my aging A/C compressor. <br>3. My husband's sugar was very high. Through diet and exercise, he has been able to cut it down to a normal range. </p><p>2. A neighbor said how pretty our front yard is looking.
