I think my traveling is cursed 😭
Whenever I take a longer trip by train and/or bus, something goes wrong or there is a sudden delay.
My wife can take the exact same connection, and everything goes smoothly.

It started when I wanted to move to Sweden almost 20 years ago and the bus never showed up, continued with getting stranded in Lahti (Finland) at 2 in the morning and needing to take a taxi for 2h with two other travellers, and currently I'm on my way to #Stockholm via #snalltaget and we're stuck in Malmö because they suddenly needed to get rid of two train cars.

#TokeriiBergslagen was a complete success and maybe even better than expected:
✅ Quirky rides on #Tågab's more or less retro trains
✅ First time on the rarely used Ställdalen-Kil line
✅ First time on #Snälltåget
✅ Lots of pictures of Reginor, SJ Intercity and NSB Type 69/70
✅ Lots of ☀️ and beautiful, icy lakes
✅ Enjoying early Scandinavian spring
Thank you all for interacting! I hope to report again soon. Vi ses! 😊

Day 9 is the start of our return journey. It starts with my first trip with #Snälltåget from to Copenhagen. Interrail is accepted, but a seat reservation is required. I like the wooden look of the modernised carriages. There are many people on this international connection. However, the train terminates in Malmö already. The announcements are only in Swedish, despite the many tourists around us. They seem confused, also by the lack of visual information... A bit disappointing. #TokeriiBergslagen

Independent Swedish rail operator Snälltåget won Travel News's Sustainability Award. Without taxpayer subsidies, Snälltåget managed to offer long-distance cross-border trains to many destinations across Europe. Snälltåget contributed much to allowing passengers to travel in a sustainable way.

incumbent 's new subsidised cross-border night service between and is still undercutting by 𝟲𝟬% the commercially driven service that independent operator is operating on the same route on the same dates!

In the 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮, how is this even allowed?

How long until a commercially successful operator is 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀?

Will the taxpayer then be liable for subsidy for the long term or the new night train ends?

RailTech.com covered our press release criticising the night train PSO between Stockholm and Berlin the Swedish incumbent rail operator received from Trafikverket, which will copy and undercut our member Snälltåget's commercial service.
