I just didn't want the web to become the realm of capitalism and I had no interest in aiding in that process. All my sites have been for small non-profits and small businesses. HTML, CSS and little else other than photos when needed. No trackers, no JS. Dr PenVery pleased to now have the toolkit list working, with some technical and design work to still do. Creating custom posts to hold tool data means I can control how the user chooses to open an app. I'll do a blog post on this bc its useful for others working in Grav. Images show the populated list, an app opened within jOYND, a file open from local storage. Dr PenThe Grav based personal info app I'm working on is progressing steadily. I'm developing ideas for using blueprints and front matter yaml to input data for the toolkit list groups. The RSS plugin category/ tags work is going ok, and we hope to make Bluesky feeds compatible too (Masto feeds already work fine). Front end editable notes have progressed a lot since I last shared any updates so I'm fairly pleased overall. Paul SomeoneElseI have a degrowth theory that is positive regardless of how valid it is. Setup: It is hard to make degrowth things when the overly complex thing is currently existing. My exmaple now is facebook marketplace. That is fundamentally a good idea. If there was no facebook marketplace, maybe people across the US (for example) would build things to do that. Most would probably fizzle out and some might succeed. So maybe that number doesn't really change with an existing facebook marketplace. If right now a bunch of people started making their own things, then also most would fizzle out and some might succeed. TLDR: Basically I am convincing myself that it's a false barrier to say that the overly complex thing is currently existing. I can host something for her, but I'm only familiar with Hugo and that's not going to work for her. Her requirements are basically <a href="https://kedara.social/tags/writefreely" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WriteFreely</a> but with image upload: a mainly text focused blog with the occasional picture. Admin with WYSIWYG, everything lightweight, minimal, clean and responsive. Comments/activitypub not required for now.
