So #Skype is shutting down and I get messages to that effect. I'm noticing there's no mention of giving me my money back. I've got $5 on their system, and while I haven't used it probably in six or seven years, I've kept the acct active because I don't want #Microsoft to have my money.

It's not much and won't bother me if it's lost, but it would bother me that Microsoft is just keeping these credit balances for themselves without permission. There should be a class action or deal with that.

Die ersten Workshops zu @langscipress haben wir übrigens 2012 mit Skype gemacht. Zoom und so gab es noch nicht.

Microsoft hat es bis heute nicht geschafft, eine vernünftige Videoplattform zusammenzuprogrammieren.

Working in distributed teams since 2007, this was a key technology in my life.

It fascinated me how well it worked, but how badly we did with distributed teaching with other tools.

They lost me when I changed employers in 2017 and only 'Skype for Business' was available which did not seem to integrate at all with "non-business" users.
