Angenommen ich möchte einer Person auf Basis eines alten Thin-Clients ein kleines #NAS mit USB-Platten (ja, ich weiß, nicht ideal, nervt nicht) hinstellen, das im besten Fall noch Anwendungen via Docker betreiben kann. Die Person aber hat wenig Lust, sich damit (intensiv) befassen zu müssen. Im Idealfall läuft das Teil einfach und Updates/Upgrades des Systems lassen sich möglichst einfach einspielen. Mensch hat Linux-Erfahrung, administriert aber nix.
Was für ein OS nehme ich da? #OpenMediaVault? #TrueNAS? Was anderes? 
#Unraid fällt eher raus, weil das Preismodell von denen insane ist.

I'm not coming from the "InfoSec" community, but given enough incentive and resources, "follow the money" should find any self,- hoster, if you think of the #CloudAct or have someone with lots of power or money make the right calls to exert pressure on the hosting company.
Even if you put up your own server somewhere in a third country (expensive,) that server needs (rental or owned) space and an internet service provider.
Given the above, how could I *not* track U down?
Just ordered another box at #Hetzner, located in #Helsinki
Will be putting up a #PixelFed instance there for those around me to begin with. We will see how the experiment goes.
I for one want to #Sqhare images of my life with the ones closest to me but I have no interest in using #Instagram more than I need to for my side hustles..

The main advantage of the #Fediverse might be that it is so versatile, as to cater for all use cases and most security necessities.

#SelfHosting is great and all, but at some point it just doesn't make sense financially.
I'm self-hosting #VaultWarden, but because I need my credentials available to me no matter where I am, and I need high-availability, hosting VaultWarden at home on a #docker container on my #Synology while being the cheaper option isn't necessarily the smart option.
The small VPS I'm hosting VaultWarden on with #Hetzner is running me about $5.00 a month.
I can purchase a year subscription to #BitWarden for $10/ year.

Same for #LinkWarden. I was thinking about standing up and self-hosting a LinkWarden instance to replace #Pocket. Again, a small VPS from Hetzner would run me about $5.00/ month.
