DesertFOX<p>While sorting through my collection of Amiga games, I just ran into another issue: OCS/ECS vs. AGA games. AGA stands for "Advanced Graphics Architecture", in comparison to OCS/ECS, which refers to the "Original/Enhanced Chip Set". AGA usually looks a bit better with support for 256 colors and was only available on the A4000 and A1200.</p><p>The problem I just had was with a game named "ZOOL". Its AGA version is so similar to the original release, that it initially boots up just fine, even on an older A500. Everything works: The loading screen, the codewheel prompt, even the main menu. Only then it completely crashes while trying to display a colorful fullscreen animation. Over the years, this must have mislead lots of Amiga fans, because I just found out most of the community's "ZOOL" disk images are actually mislabeled as "OCS/ECS", while they are in fact newer "AGA" versions. Yes, it even confused the SPS people! DesertFOX<p>After all this time, SimCity still is one of my favourite video games ever. And after all these years of collecting, I am still finding new stuff!</p><p>Today, I just came across a pristine copy protected disk image of SimCity v1.1 for the Amiga. That one will happily run the game without the need to get any codes from the manual. Also today, I found a slightly more modern version of the Terrain Editor documentation, where they removed the instructions for ATARI systems. DesertFOX<p>Well, considering this is my very first physical Amiga diskette with a full-on copy protection, everything went way better than expected. Easy peasy!</p><p>I managed to extract a perfect KryoFlux stream from the protected disk and its copy protection tracks! Also, the resulting "CT RAW" disk image plays perfectly fine in the latest WinUAE Amiga emulator.
