cath<p>By way of an <a href="https://aus.social/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a>, in overlappy chronological order <br>1. Got a PhD for a cross-disciplinary thesis on museums as a site for informal dialogic learning. <a href="https://aus.social/tags/PauloFreire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PauloFreire</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/history" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>history</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/heritage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>heritage</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/culture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>culture</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/reimagining" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>reimagining</span></a> <br>2. Raised a lovely human as a sole parent. <br>3. Thought deeply about the magic of similitude in <a href="https://aus.social/tags/systems" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>systems</span></a> – see <a href="https://sembl.net" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">sembl.net</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> – and learned a lot including that (a) I’m a hopeless business-person and (b) Indigenous people have relational-thinking capacities that the rest of us need.<br>4. Worked for 15 years in national cultural institutions trying to make collections more accessible and usable. Came away feeling that those places are small-minded and elitist. Maybe the notion of a ‘national institution’ is oxymoronic.<br>5. Working for 6 years in the realm of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations gave me a sense of how it might feel to work *for* one of those corporations – so now I’m in the process of uprooting to do that. <a href="https://aus.social/tags/adventure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>adventure</span></a></p>
