New Post: “Alberniweather now sees the Earthquakes! Plus Weather Change – Social Moving – Go Canada!”

All that activity in Greece?
Ya. This thing “hears” that!!
I turned up the squelch a little bit on the bottom graph, for a nice high contrast view of the shaking. The long range earthquakes are detected with extremely low frequencies in the 0.1 to 0.3Hz
I love all the data my weather station provides, but the cool factor of this earthquake monitor is… off the charts!!
Apparently my station just detected a 1.1M earthquake in California just now! Amazing!!

I was complaining about shipping with Fedex and their habit of charging customs duty along the way... I said it was coming from Connecticut?
no...
CN stands for China, dummy.
So ya, a couple weeks makes sense. Should be here Friday.
It just flew from Shanghai to Sennan-Shi, Japan.
I am a little surprised it is coming all that way, but I guess I shouldn't be... rather than being made in the USA but.
What is this thing I am getting.... ohhh ya, geekware!
Gonna measure me some Earthquakes!! @ingalls

@parsingphase ...and near the Quebec-Maine border (Riviere Bleue). 500 km distance.Magnitude 3.8
Picked up the #MaineQuake on my #RaspberryShake…
Sensor is in North-East MA, Middlesex County
#earthquake
The last 24hr in Wobbleometer Towers. That’ll be Storm Eówyn starting in the early hours then
@nws_ntwc_bot oh. My RaspberryShake did detect this larger than typical M4.7 quake in the Geysers #earthquake #raspberryshake
Today's trace from a seismometer in the Lower St. Lawrence area of Quebec. The upper two sets of signals are the snow plow going up and down the road. The long trace is the Mag. 7.0 earthquake off California. The later surface wave arrival is clearly visible. The bottom two small signals are mine blasts. Lot's of shakin'!
#Earthquake detected at my house in #Saanich a few hours ago. I was asleep and didn’t notice.
This is the largest amplitude signal I’ve ever seen on my #RaspberryShake.
2024-09-03 16:31:13 Mag 5.0, central Iceland
The P-wave would have been swamped in the huge spike at the left; the S-wave would've arrived around 16:35:40, possibly contributing to the greater spikes at the time.
My RaspberryShake detected the M7.1 earthquake from super early this morning Pacific time. Here’s the USGS link: https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us6000nith/executive
2024-08-01 21:10:35: Mag 0.8, south of Kinlochleven / back of Glen Coe
Not sure this shows it particularly clearly but there's a hint of a small spike near the S-wave.
At least the BGS got it properly: https://earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/.../20240801210918.html...
#earthquake. #Seismograph from #raspberryshake in Southern California (my backyard)
Mag: 6.5 & M6.6
Depth: 8 km & 11 km
Location: 219 km WSW of Tofino, Canada
2024-07-03 11:15:04.3 Mag 3.0, North Sea
Been a while since I picked anything up here. Some quakes have scheduled themselves for when the Wobbleometer is itself feeling a bit wobbly. Hey ho. Got this one though :)
2024-04-19 01:42:17 M2.5 Belper, Derbyshire
According to the BGS it was felt in Matlock and Derby:

2024-04-18 02:52 M2.3 or M3.0 in the southern North Sea
Also quite a strong signal
2024-04-17 17:43 M1.5 Newport, Staffordshire
Not an area of the country I know particularly well. Quite pleased at how the P & S waves show on the trace though.
2024-04-18 00:15:42 M0.7 Skipness, Kintyre
A tiny wee wobble but it does sorta appear in the trace a bit
