Ross of Ottawa<p>Just words in a toot, but feeling it's a profoundly important point:</p><p>What's changed in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/democracy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>democracy</span></a> is that it may now be more important that our voting processes identify the person that the majority believes must NOT win, rather than anoint the "uniquely perfect" candidate for the job.</p><p>Ranked ballot gets to that goal, eliminating vote splitting, capturing consensus on our anyone-but-that-person sentiments.</p><p>It could be the only thing that saves civilization in the 21st century.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RankedBallot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RankedBallot</span></a></p>
