Universität Innsbruck<p>In June 1925, Werner Heisenberg traveled to the island of <a href="https://social.uibk.ac.at/tags/Helgoland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Helgoland</span></a> to formulate the mathematical foundations of <a href="https://social.uibk.ac.at/tags/quantum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>quantum</span></a> mechanics. 100 years later, the leaders of the field are meeting again on Helgoland this week. Physicists from Innsbruck are part of it: quantum visionary Peter Zoller, quantum computer pioneer Rainer Blatt, quantum networker Tracy Northup and junior researchers Thomas Agrenius-Gustafsson, Johannes Fankhauser and Lukas Fiderer.</p><p><a href="https://social.uibk.ac.at/tags/helgoland2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>helgoland2025</span></a> <a href="https://social.uibk.ac.at/tags/IYQ2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IYQ2025</span></a> <a href="https://social.uibk.ac.at/tags/QuantumYear" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>QuantumYear</span></a> <a href="https://social.uibk.ac.at/tags/physcis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>physcis</span></a></p>
